Last summer, after a long time without a break, I finally decided to enjoy well-deserved holidays.

Thanks to the Ferragosto period, notoriously free of weddings, I went to Mauritius to relax and recharge my batteries before the autumn season.

What can I say, it's such a lovely place! Fantastic beaches, lush vegetation, very kind locals and food with incredible colors and flavors. How could I not carry with me my beloved Canon on this vacation to such a paradise ??! Busy on diving, kitesurfing, cocktails and barbecues, I thought I wouldn't have got time to take many photos.

But I was wrong: the beauty of the island, combined with my irrepressible passion for photography, led me to bring so many photos back home ... Those you see in this article are among the most I am more attached to. Now I'm explaning you a bit about how it all started.

I was planning to take a trip to the Isle of Deer (Île aux Cerfs), a microscopic and idyllic natural reserve on an island just 5 minutes away by boat from Mauritius. Right on this boat, I was sitting next to a beautiful couple who spoke Italian. Obviously we immediately invested time on getting to know each other, thus discovering that Erica and Riccardo are originally from Vicenza (my city) and have been living happily in London for some time .

Once we arrived on the island, as good Venetians as we are, we went together to a bar for an aperitif and then we said eachother goodbye to go sunbathing. After a couple of hours, it started raining (Mauritius is in the southern hemisphere and at that time it was full winter. Note that if you are looking for days of 12 hours of uninterrupted sunshine you better go during european winter) and the three of us 'casually' met again at the usual bar.

Obviously, after another round of aperitifs it immediately came to my mind the brilliant idea of taking a couple portrait of them. Half an hour later, when the rain stopped, we all went to the beach where I photo shooteted this beautiful couple of lovers. I admit that the wind helped me a lot, you can clearly see it from Erica's blond hair!

As always, I didn't want to give too much emphasis to the surroundings, I aimed to take photos capturing all the passion, the chemistry, the feelings between Elena and Riccardo. I think I did it very well ... Enjoy!
